Food Banks Canada, in partnership with NielsenIQ, provides the food industry with a national standard for food valuation. This food valuation is the basis upon which FoodMesh calculates the value of the food our clients donate through our programs and services.

Effective March 2024, FoodMesh updated our donated food calculations to align with Food Banks Canada’s most recent valuation of donated food, which states that the national aggregate value of food is $7.76/kg (up from $5.70/kg).
