11 Oct Fresh St. Market donates 1 million meals to people in need
Since FoodMesh and Fresh St. Market joined forces to give food a second chance back in April 2020, their seven stores have collectively donated the equivalent of 1 million meals to people in our communities. We would like to congratulate them on reaching this outstanding milestone!
Sharon Dong from CityReach Care Society, one of their donation recipients, said of their support: “Each week we receive healthy and nutritious food donations from Fresh St. Market. In addition to keeping our planet green, the donations help us add quality, quantity and variety to support our vulnerable families. Thank you so much!”
1 million meals donated means that Fresh St. Market has:
kept 643,977 KG of unsalable food out of waste streams
saved 1,661,461 KG of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphereA huge congratulations to everyone who participates in this program for being food rescue heroes!
