IGA of BC donates 1 million meals to vulnerable people in our communities

Since FoodMesh and IGA of BC joined forces to give food a second chance back in April 2020, their 22 stores have collectively donated the equivalent of 1 million meals to people in our communities. We would like to congratulate them on reaching this outstanding milestone!

Theresa Contois from Cedar Feast House Catering – one of IGA’s donation recipients – said of their support: “I am so thankful and appreciate what the folks at IGA are doing – aside from feeding those in need, they are also keeping my people busy with experiences to work and learn.”

1 million meals donated means that IGA of BC has:

🍐 kept 597,346 KG of unsalable food out of waste streams

🌱 saved 1,537,896 KG of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere
